Meral Güner

Psychologist/ EMDR therapist/Arts therapist

Hi, I’m Meral! I graduated as a psychologist in 2017 and went on to complete my master’s degree at Bahcesehir University in Istanbul. I am a certified EMDR therapist and arts therapist. I have also completed my ISST approved Schema Therapy training and have integrated it as a tool in my sessions.

You can come to me with a variety of symptoms and concerns, including anxiety, trauma-related issues, personality difficulties, mood disorders and identity problems.

I have experience working with diverse populations in schools, psychological clinics and hospitals, and predominantly with intercultural groups. I provide therapy in English and Turkish.

I am deeply passionate about my work and believe that everyone deserves to be understood and supported on their journey towards wellbeing!

Shyla Sarraf

In my treatment, your story is central. I look not only at the symptoms you experience, but also at what lies beneath: who you are, what you have been through and which patterns have developed throughout your life.

My way of working is calm, curious and non-judgmental. Together we explore what is happening and what is needed, with respect for what you bring.

My background in neuropsychology and trauma treatment (EMDR, Voice Dialogue, Schema Therapy) helps me to understand symptoms from different perspectives and to recognise the humanity within them — this we take with us into the treatment together.

Ultimately, what matters to me is that you come to understand yourself better and from there make choices that are meaningful to your recovery.

Tisya Khari

Systemic Therapist | Basic Psychologist

Hi, I’m Tisya. I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, and I trained in Systemic Therapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS in London. With over 9 years of experience across diverse cultural contexts — including the NHS in London, specialist mental health care in Delhi and addiction services — I understand psychological difficulties as never separate from the environment in which a person lives.

I work from an integrative and systemic approach with individuals and couples. We look at your thoughts and patterns, but also at your relationships, your context and your background. You are never just one room.

I offer therapy in English and Hindi.

Accessibility

The CITB is an outpatient facility; you can visit us by appointment. We can be reached during office hours.

For acute, emergency help outside office hours, you can always visit the GP out-of-hours clinic in your area. There they can assess whether you should be referred to the 24-hour crisis service of the GGZ.

Waiting time

We aim to screen an application within 1 working week. Based on this screening, we determine whether you can be placed on our waiting list.

Currently, we have a waiting time of 4 to 8 weeks for intake. This depends on the demand for care, care intensity and the availability of our therapists. The intake procedure consists of 2-4 interviews.

There is no distinction between the waiting time of registration and citb treatment, as treatment starts after the intake procedure.
